WordPad overview, Using WordPad

WordPad overview
With WordPad, you can create and edit simple text documents or documents with complex formatting and graphics. You can link or embed information from other documents into a WordPad document.
You can save your WordPad file as a text file, rich text file, text file for MS-DOS, or Unicode. These formats provide greater flexibility when working with other programs. Documents that use multiple languages should be saved as rich text files.
Using WordPad
You might need to be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to perform some tasks.
You can use WordPad to create or edit text files that contain formatting or graphics. Use Notepad for basic text editing or for creating Web pages.
Open  ** WordPad.
**Notes
·         To open WordPad, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click WordPad.
·         For information about using WordPad, click the Help menu in WordPad.
·         For more information, click Related Topics.

Regional and Language Options overview
Using Regional and Language Options in Control Panel, you can install multiple languages on your computer, such as Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, and Western European languages (French, Spanish, German, and many others). You can choose which one you want to use when you create a document. Windows then makes the character set for that language available, so you can start writing.
Both WordPad and Notepad let you create documents in other languages, but a word processing program may include other features, such as spell checkers, to help you write documents in multiple languages.
If you send your document to someone else, the recipient must also have the same languages installed in order to read or edit the file.
To compose a document using multiple languages
  1. Create or open a document.
  2. In the notification area, click the language icon located near the system time, and then click the language you want to use.
  3. Compose your document.
  4. To change languages, click the language icon in the notification area, and then select another language from the list.
      ** Note
  • If the language icon is not in the notification area, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options. On the Languages tab, select Enable indicator on taskbar.
